How to convert NEF to JPG

NEF is the RAW format Nikon cameras write. It holds far more image data than a finished photo needs, which is why a single frame can run 25–60 MB and why photo sites, forms and messaging apps usually refuse it. Converting to JPG gives you a small, universally accepted file.

If you plan to retouch the photo heavily, convert to PNG instead with the NEF to PNG converter.
