    How it works

    1. Decode locally

Your browser downloads a codec (0.2–14 MB of WebAssembly, cached forever) and decodes the image on your CPU. The file itself goes nowhere.

    2. Transform

Optional high-quality Lanczos resize, transparency flattening, EXIF orientation fix — all on raw pixels in memory.

    3. Re-encode

MozJPEG, libwebp, libavif, libjxl, OxiPNG or ImageMagick encodes the result at your chosen quality, and you download it straight from memory.

    Frequently asked questions

Is EditItAll really free? What’s the catch?+

Free, no accounts, no watermarks, no file limits. There is no catch because there are barely any costs: your own device does the processing, so we don’t run image servers. The site is a static page plus WebAssembly codecs.

Are my images uploaded to a server?+

No. Every decode, resize and encode runs inside your browser using WebAssembly builds of MozJPEG, libwebp, libavif, libjxl, OxiPNG and ImageMagick. You can load the page, disconnect from the internet, and it keeps working. Your files never touch a network.

    Which image formats are supported?+

Input: JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, JPEG XL, QOI, GIF, BMP, ICO, TIFF, HEIC/HEIF (iPhone), SVG, PSD, TGA, EXR and camera RAW (CR2, NEF, ARW, DNG and more). Output: JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, JPEG XL, GIF, TIFF, BMP, ICO and QOI.

How much smaller will my images get?+

Typical results: JPEG re-encoded with MozJPEG at quality 80 shrinks 40–70%. PNG optimized losslessly saves 10–40%, or up to 90% converting photos to WebP/AVIF. HEIC to JPEG depends on quality — around 20–60% smaller than the equivalent JPEG your phone would export. You always see exact before/after sizes per file.

Does it remove EXIF metadata and GPS location?+

Yes — encoding starts from raw pixels, so EXIF blocks (including GPS coordinates, camera serial numbers and editing history) are not carried into the output. Orientation is applied to the pixels first, so photos don’t come out rotated.

Can I compress or convert many images at once?+

Yes. Drop any number of files; they process in sequence with progress per file, and you can download results individually or as a single ZIP.
