Can you edit photos in your browser while offline?

It sounds surprising that a web page could work with the internet switched off, but it comes down to where the work happens. A client-side editor loads its full program into your browser the first time you open it. After that, opening a photo, applying filters and saving the result all happen on your own device — the browser is just the place the app runs, the way a desktop app runs on your operating system. No connection is needed because nothing is being sent anywhere.

A server-based tool is the opposite. The page is only a front end; the actual editing happens on a remote server your file is uploaded to. Pull the connection and it has nothing to talk to, so it stops. That's why "can it work offline?" is really the same question as "does it edit on my device?"
