Image to SVG
Drop a PNG, JPG, or WebP. A Rust tracer fits the shapes in this tab, and the file is never uploaded.
How to trace an image
- 1Drop an image. Tracing starts as soon as the picture is in the tab.
- 2Set the palette, style, and detail. The preview updates on its own.
- 3Drag the comparison, or switch the view to the color regions. Download the SVG or a scaled PNG, or open the SVG in the vector editor.
After the trace
The SVG is a normal file of filled shapes. Open it in the vector editor to keep editing the paths.
Frequently asked questions
Is my image uploaded?+
No. Tracing runs in this browser tab. The file never leaves your device.
What images work best?+
Logos, icons, and flat artwork. Photographs become poster-like shapes.
Is this the same as converting a PNG to SVG?+
A bitmap has no paths to convert. This tool traces shapes and writes new paths.
Can I edit the result?+
Download the SVG and open it in the vector editor at /vector-editor.
Why is the preview smaller than my original?+
The longest side is capped between 512 and 2048 pixels, 1280 by default, so tracing stays in the tab. The tool does not enlarge a picture.
